4 Month Appt.

Cady had her 4 month appt. today, as the title implies. She now weighs 12 lbs. 8 oz. and she is 24.5 inches. In other news, she now eats 5 ounces per feeding and we have started her on cereal before bedtime. She loves it. She has also been sleeping through the night for a while now and she has had a regular schedule as well. Her first feeding is usually in the 7AM hour and when she wakes up, she doesn't cry, she just lies there and talks...cute. So thats all for now...now go ahead and read it again...and enjoy

Thought you might enjoy this.[I do not own this image but boy do I wish I did.]

Well it has been while since I last updated...Cady is either taller, heavier, or both because her feet now touch the floor in her jumper. She is also fully grabbing things, though she does not quite have the depth perception down yet. Her laugh is now a full laugh and not just squealing. And lastly she is still not sleeping through the night, but she just needs her pacifier and she goes back to sleep. Still no set schedule with her yet either. Thanks for tuning in...this is me, signing out.

Boomshakalaka

So tonight Cady rolled over from her back...FIVE times...boom...so now she rolls both ways...next closest actions are sitting up(she is getting really close) and crawling...and she is reaching out and grabbing a lot more now...and her laugh is awesome...that is all.

PS...it has been 8 nights in a row now that Cady has slept at least 8 hours...awesome

Updatificationism

So for starters, Cady is over 2 months old now...9 weeks and almost 3 days to be exact. I figured I should update and get some new photos up...I plan to get a video of her up soon...so before I get to her appt. today...some new things she does.

She now has rediculous head control and no matter how far back she is sitting, she will try and sit up straight...she can't quite get up from laying on her back though...she is pretty close to laughing, she smiles a lot more now....and she can officially roll over on purpose...at least from her tummy anyways...not quite from her back yet, she cant quite figure out how to get over her arm yet...but today she rolled 4 times from her tummy to back...that's right...count it.

On to the appt...she did not gain much in terms of weight, only 4 ounces. This had me and retta worried at first but the doctor said with her height, she is at a good weight. Her height is now 23 big ol' inches...thats a 1.5 inch gain since last visit. She then of course got her shots, which she was pissed about, but she got two cans of formula(way better than dumb lollipops).

Me and the beast...the doctor said she was strong

Cribtastic

We finally got a new crib...hopefully this one will not be recalled...on another note...Cady is starting to sleep longer...two 7 hour nights this past week and last night she slept for 6...hopefully she sticks to it and gets a schedule down. Also...she is super tall...she is wearing three month clothes and the only reason they dont fit is because she is not very big in the mid section...she drools A LOT...and she is starting to try to laugh...her squeals are so precious...and lastly...her head control and eyesight are awesome. Thanks for tuning in

Visitationificationismally Fantastic

WOOOOHHOOOO....I feel better now. So Cady is now going out and about a lot more. She has been to Halifax at least twice, and Retta's parents house like twice. I take her for walks now in her stroller..and she loves it. I took her to Rose's twice over the weekend, so her and Adrienne can bond, and so she can get used to the Hubert's's's...Plus she needed to experience Blu-ray HD. YEA..and Tom Cruise...so hawt. Anywho..Adrienne likes to point at Cady, it is pretty cute. She also wants her car seat toy. Tonight Cady went out again with mommy to visit mommy's aunt Denise...I believe in York Haven...she wore a purdy dress and looked presh us. She will be wearing said dress again on Sunday, Adrienne's big day. AWESOME!....oh yea...and Cady now enjoys whistling and Rob Zombie music...oh yea. And Backstreet Boys, but no N'Stink...k bye

Chuck E. Cheese

So today was an awesome day. We went to CEC with Retta's Ma, Jeff(Justina), Steve(her brother, not the other two), and Zoey. It was a well needed trip for both of us, very relaxing. But before all the fun began I'll talk about the night we had. So after my last blog you all know Cady is on Nutramigen. We also cut back on her feedings about an ounce. It seems to be working because she has not spit up for a while. Anywho...last night she ate around 10:45...the she proceeded to sleep until 2:30...awesome. Don't worry, it gets better. She then slept until 6:30...oh yea. I bet you can't guess when she woke again...(and if you read ahead you are a cheater.) She slept til 10:40...uhhuh. Anyways, so it seems she is back to her old sleeping habits of 4 hours at a time. Good stuff. So back to the good old CEC. I am sure Retta will post pictures, I did not have my camera there. Anywho, after her 10:40 feeding, Cady decided to stay awake, which is fine. When we got to CEC she was still up so everyone got to hold her. Then we had CEC Pizza and Breadsticks...DEEELISH US. Powerful stuff, I know. After that me and Retta went around and played games while Granny Crystal(she hates being called Granny ...HA!) watched the C Monster. I was not much competition for Steve in the basketball, football, and baseball games, but I did better than Retta. Cady eventually fell asleep there, and then I helped her play some games in her sleep. She only played one game with me...one of those games where you try to stop the light to get the jackpot tickets...we have all played them I am sure. She got three when she played...I got 9 every time except the time I got one. Wow this is a pretty long blog for me. I feel winded. I may even have Carpool tunnel. You get it...I misspelled it on purpose to be funny...Not funny I know...wow...More blogs to come in the future...stay tuned.

One Month

Cady is one month...wow...that went all fast like. So she is having all kinds of issues with formula...we are positive now that she has milk allergy. The soy milk formula gives her gas issues, so Retta called the pediatrician...they told her we should try Nestle Good Start(milk based). Well that was even worse...she spit up after every feeding...even just an ounce. So now we are gonna try enfamil nutramigen...hopefully she will do well with it. She is so precious.

4 Weeks

Cady is now 4 weeks old...she also had ''emergency'' doctor appt. today. Not really so much an emergency, that is just what the pediatrician's office considers it....i'm sure some of you already knew that...anywho...so she may have milk allergy....poor monster. Blood tests were fine..still waiting on urine tests. On a lighter note...or should I say heavier....HA!....Cady is now 10 lbs 12 oz...thats right ...almost 11 lbs of AWESOME!....but for now we sleep...

2 Weeks +

You may have seen Rose's blog about the visit this past weekend. It was awesome. We put Adrienne in Cady's gym and she enjoyed it. She also shook the mess out of it, which was hilarious. She is a beast.
Aunt Rose holding Cady
On another note, Cady is now 2 weeks and 1 day old. I guess I should just say 15 days, but when you say 2 weeks it seems more important. Anywho...She lost her stump and now has a beautiful baby belly, an innie of course(the only right way to go...yea i said it...outties are gross). Me and Retta( I don't do "Retta and I"...damn grammar)...we believe she is now definitely over 9 lbs, maybe close to 10. And by the way, she is awesome.

1 Week

Cady is a week old today...awesome. Her first appointment with the pediatrician was today and it went well. She didn't fuss at all until they went to weigh her. When we left the hospital she weighed 7 lbs 9 oz. As of today she weighs 8 lbs 12 oz. Yea...thats 1 lb 3 oz in 5 days. She loves eating. She didn't really gain much in height. Still about 21. And of course, after the assistant left, but before the doctor came in, Cady pooed. But all in all it was a good visit and the doctor said she should be rolling soon...we'll see. Her next appt. is June 26.

Cady's First Days

So Cady's first day home was Yesterday. It was fun, and she eats A LOT more now that she is at home. At the hospital she was downing 2 oz per feeding. Then she would be fed every couple hours. At home she would still eat just 2 oz at a feeding, but then would get hungry sometimes after just 1 hour or so. Today she had 5.5 oz withing 2.5 hours. Of course a result of that was a hearty diaper. Overnight with her isn't so bad. I was awake at some point every hour except for 2 and 4, I slept completely through both those hours. The hardest part of the day with Cady is early afternoon. When the afternoon sun hits our window it gets a bit warmer and she is not a fan of being hot. She is more fussy when she is hot but all we have to do is turn the air on and swaddle her and she is Number 1 A OK. On another note, Reesey is fussier. Now that she doesn't get as much attention, she carries her toys more often and cries while walking to the living room. Silly cat. That is all for now.

New Arrival

Awesome.
Cady is here. She arrived at 5:09AM on May 19,2009. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 13.6 oz with a height of 21 inches. I couldn't be happier. She is beautiful and badass. Yea that's right. I said it.
She really hasn't cried much. I know it has only been one whole day so far but she only cried when she was born, and when she gets hungry. And she is eating much better now then when she started. We started her on Similac for the first three feedings but we have Enfamil now. She seems to like it better.
She also is an awesome burper. That is definitely a word. Yup. I also changed her first poo diaper today. I will spare the details and just say she made it challenging. Yea. She also spit up today. I think it was from eating too fast, but of course the nurse questioned my burping ability. Yea I know, she must be crazy.
So anyway, Cady will be coming home Thursday. Her only medical issue is the hematoma on her dome, but it is not unusual and should subside on its own. Awesome. I will be putting more pictures and videos of her up as soon as I get my camera home. And I am sure Retta will blog when she gets home. Thanks for stopping by.

Books

So...tonight we bought Cady some new books, and I figured it would be a good time to list what all books we have(why not). Tonight we bought Lucky Little Duck and The Complete Peter Rabbit Library. I know..you're thinking.."gee Matt, that is awesome." Yes, it is. To continue, we also have The Big Book of Little, which mostly has stories and excerpts from stories relating to "little"(most of the stories have little in the title, i.e. The Little Mermaid). Then we have Princess Stories(self-explanatory) written by same author of BBoL. We have Millie Moo, Good Night Moon, The Brave Penguin, and a book about Penguins. Then there's The Adventures of Prickly Porky, Velveteen Rabbit, The Night Before Christmas, The Poky Little Puppy, and Barnyard Dance. And finally our Dr. Seuss collection: Hop on Pop, Go Dog Go, Are You My Mother, The Thinks you can Think, Green Eggs and Ham, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, The Cat in the Hat, The Cat in the Hat Comes Back, and Fox in Socks(which by the way are in order of difficulty from easiest to hardest for a child, my opinion). So keep this in mind if you plan on buying us any books. I feel better now. I will probably b-log again tonight with pictures of Cady's room so until then.

Cady's Nikes

Cady got some new shoes today. The ladies at the receiving dock at work had a sort of baby shower for her today. She got a new blanket, some side-button shirts, wipes, and these badass shoes. Awesometacular. She won't be able to wear them for a while though, because they are size 5. Still badass. Thanks for listening. Peace up...A-town down.

Wowsers

Here I is...finally put up a blog. I know none of you can contain your excitement. And yes, if you look to the right, I am following my own B-Log..because that is what I does...indeedily. I do intend to do some work with this page but I just wanted to get it started before Cady arrived. Anyways...since this blog is more about Cady than me....Retta had an appt. today. I am sure she will blog about it but she blogs silly like. Cervix is still completely closed...so Friday is a non stress test day...then Sunday she gets some gel to soften and Monday is Induction!!...Hooray...Badassery. Funny thing is her last blog was about induction and now she is getting one...HA...I am sure you will read about it on her page....good times....Well I have to get to work...won't be able to concentrate but whatevs...Thanks for the chat and i'll write again soon.
